♥ DKNY Sweet Delicious Tart Key Lime ♥

DKNY Sweet Delicious Tart Key Lime

If you have followed my blog for a while then you will already know that fragrance plays a huge part in my life. I love make-up, skincare and nail varnish don't get me wrong but what really floats my boat and excites me the most is perfume. I think i have to blame my dad for this one as when i was around 13 or 14 he bought me my very first perfume in duty free when we were on our way to Spain on holiday. Ever since that time it has been a tradition of mine you could say for me to buy a perfume in duty free when i am off on my jolly holiday. Each perfume in my collection has a meaning and a memory for me, that may sound extreme to some people but it really is true. My first ever perfume left huge memories for me from my holiday to Spain and still to this day when i spray that perfume 'Escada Island Kiss' i think back to those times. The same as the majority of perfumes in my vast collection, yes i can totally hold my hands up high and admit i have a ridiculous collection but what can i say i go on holiday a lot, each and every perfume has a memory and when i spray that perfume it brings a time of happiness for me and memories of a great holiday. Crazy how a fragrance can do that and i hope a lot of you feel the same way. Travelling also plays a big part in my life so to have a fragrance to represent each holiday and each memories is something i love.

So my most recent trip away was to the Philippines which a lot of you will already have known. I am back now in my little house in London, i am happy to be home but also am now missing the Philippines and this awful cold weather that is hitting London again. So following my little 'tradition' i obviously had to take a trip into duty free and prance around for ages much to my boyfriends disappointment choosing which perfume will be my next victim.

I had previously spied a press release for a new Limited Edition line from DKNY and instantly new when it was released that one of the perfumes had to be mine...or all three ;p However i wasn't too sure of the release date and with the stress of packing and organising for my holiday i had totally forgotten about the release..until i spotted it when i was off to the Philippines in Terminal 4 duty free. The great thing about duty free is that they get new perfumes earlier than high street shops and department stores although sometimes its not so good for me as i work at Heathrow and end up having a wish list about the length of my arm. Anyway i was super happy to see the sweet like candy coloured boxes sitting nicely in the new releases section.

I am a huge fan of the DKNY Golden Delicious Perfume which has been a firm favourite of mine over the last few months so when i read the new Spring Limited Editon line was inspired by creamy recipes for CUPCAKES yes that's right cupcakes i literally nearly fell head over heals...if you hadn't already i am sure you can probably now tell that perfume really is up there at the top of my true loves!!

Cupcakes and pastel candy colours what more could a girl want???

The promo image for the collection is literally scrumptious and i think it really would tempt anyone.

There is 3 truly delicious (no pun indented) fragrances in the range

Pink Macaroon
Tart Key Lime
Creamy Meringue

I was really stuck for choice and really struggled with choosing which one i wanted for my holiday. It didn't help that the perfumes had literally just come in that day and the testers for them were coming the following day, how stupid is that? Anyway they still put all the perfumes out on display and even without testers they seemed to be flying off the shelves. After a long deliberation with my boyfriend bless him and many uming and ahing later i decided to go with 'Tart Key Lime' I wanted something sweet but fresh at the same time, something i could happily wear in 30 degrees heat on my holiday and something that screamed 'holiday' at me. Pink Macaroon sounds so nice, same with Creamy Meringue but sometimes lemon can come across a bit like toilet/kitchen cleaner lol so i didn't want to risk that and i thought Pink Macaroon may be similar to the fragrances i normally go for... Tart Key Lime sounded so different and intriguing.

I can happily say that Tart Key Lime was an excellent choice and is absolutely divine!!!

Who wants pie? This vibrant fragrance features a sparkling key lime pie accord blend with generous amounts of orange zest, bergamot and mandarin with vibrant neroli. Equal parts tangy and smooth, it imparts a bright allure and irresistible delight with tasty flourishes of basil macaroon and Ginger wrapped in feminine Violet leaves, this sweet-tooth favourite delivers an enchanting twist that elegantly captiates the sense...Dig in!

The Tart Key Lime and orange zest really come through quite heavily in the fragrance but in a stunning way. Its zesty, sweet, citrus and fresh all together. Its so incredibly different to anything i have ever tried and its so different to any other DKNY fragrance. You would assume that vanilla would play a huge part in these fragrances what with them being inspired by cupcakes but no, no vanilla. Again you would also assume that fragrances designed at 'desserts' would be very heavy and sweet yet this fragrance really is a citrus dream. It was perfect for my holiday and is going to be my fragrance of choice for the summer. It lasts ages on my skin and really settles into the skin with the tart key lime shining through.
The bottle also makes me happy...the pastel green is gorgeous and the matte finish really makes it something different..a first for the 'Be Delicious' line i believe! There will only be 50ml available which is a really generous size with the classic Be Delicious push button spritz meaning there is not lid, perfect for your handbag and freshening up on the go!

I am really in love and now want all 3!!

How amazing would it be if a gift set of all 3 in smaller bottles was available?? I think that's one for the cards DKNY i know i would buy it hehe.

RRP £36 for 50ml

These will be released on April 1st however they are now available in debenhams.

Do these sound delicious to you?
Are you excited for the release?

Holiday Nails With Orly

I have previously posted about this gorgeous nail varnish here however a lot of you have spotted it in a few pictures and also on my Instagram so i thought i would share it with you all again.

This has literally been my nail colour of choice this holiday...i have worn it pretty much all holiday.

'Orly Fancy Fuchsia'

The most stunning bright blue toned neon pink!

Orly is without fail my favourite 'higher end' nail varnish brand. I love the formulation, the colours, their packaging...everything!!!

This is a short but sweet post but you were all really rather interested to know what colour i had been wearing on my nails so i thought i would share it with you all :)

Orly is much cheaper here in the Philippines and tomorrow is my last day so i am off to find some more colours for my collection!!

Whats your favourite holiday nail colour?
Do you love Orly?

♥ Maybelline Baby Lips ♥

Did i really need 4 new lip balms? No however they were just too cute to pass by, yes i am a total sucker for packing and i mean for only 79 peso which is around £1.20 each i really couldn't say no!

Maybelline Baby Lips are adult strength care for baby soft lips...so they say, well what they do say is correct as these little babies are really super moisturising. They say they have 8 hours of moisture and to be honest i really don't believe this as what lip product really will stay put and moisturise for 8 hours but never the less if you have dry or chapped lips these work perfectly. They are all enriched with centella essence which is said to increase cell turnover to literally transform your lips!

These are available in 4 different scents...

Energizing Orange
Anti-Oxidant Berry
Smoothing Cherry
Relieving Menthol

Now to be honest when i first purchased these i instantly thought my favourite scent would have been the cherry as i love all things cherry scented however i am in love with the Energizing Orange. Its not too sickly just a nice hint of orange and it tastes pretty good too ;p

I picked these up at the beginning of my holiday and have been using the Energizing Orange everyday since, it has a SPF20 which has kept my lips from burning in the sun un like the rest of my body but that's a different story.

I do really love these products and i am happy i came across them however i would only recommend them if you are in the market for a new lip balm...i believe these are not actually available in the UK yet and i also believe that i have the version which is only available in South East Asia. I also saw that these are in the US but a different version...wow that was a mouthful and a lot to explain.

If these are a real interest to you then i would certainly recommend having a look on eBay to see if you can find them on there to purchase.

Have you tried these yet?
Are you a fan?

Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 B.B Cream

I have finally found a BB Cream which i love!!! Damn how it just so happens to only be available in the Philippines at the moment.

*Maybelline Clear Smooth 8-in-1 BB Cream Skin Care Plus Make-Up*
I payed around 295peso which is roughly £4.50 which i think is amazing!

BB Creams have recently really hit the beauty world by a storm with pretty much every cosmetic company releasing one. They were originally massive in South East Asia and have slowly worked their way to us so fingers crossed this Maybelline one will slowly follow...it better do ;p

What is a BB Cream?
A BB Cream or a Blemish Balm Cream is an all in one moisturiser, sun block and foundation! It gives you the benefits of both skincare and make-up. It moisturises and protects the skin while giving it flawless natural coverage.

This Maybelline BB Cream contains 8 healthy minerals for 8 healthy benefits, giving you flawless skin in an instant!

There are 2 factors i absolutely love about this BB Cream and they are that it really does give flawless skin without being heavy and cakey on the skin and that it isn't a grey colour. A lot of BB Creams that i have tried have had a slight grey tint to the colour of the product making the skin really dull and not matching my skin tone at all however this is not an issue with this BB Cream the colour is a perfect light tan colour which blends like a dream!
Once blended it gives such a gorgeous glow to the skin and what with it being an oil free product it doesn't make my skin look shiny...just so you know i have Dry/Combination skin so i am obviously giving my review based on my skin type i cant comment on how it would work with oily skin types.
Since buying this i have used it everyday on my holiday as it has SPF 26 it is perfect for protecting my skin against the sun and is giving me enough coverage for during the day. Its not the biggest sized bottle at only 18ml but a little sure does go a long way!

When i am out in the Philippines for some reason my skin gets really really happy..i think it must be the water as i never suffer with spots or blemishes out here and my skin really clears up to be as perfect as it can be so at the moment i am happy with how my skin looks and can happily just wear a BB Cream..i will obviously be using this when i am back in London and guaranteed my skin will go back to being a hot mess so i will let you know how it goes...i have faith in it as i love everything about it but i will of course let you know!

If you really did want to try this then they are on Ebay for around £7 inc p+p from Thailand however you never know i may do a giveaway when i am home *wink wink*

Have you tried this BB Cream?
Are you a fan of BB Creams?

♥ Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters ♥

The other day whilst having a chilled stroll around the local mall from a distance i spotted a promo image which sent me a little crazy!! I shouted 'omg revlon lip butters' my boyfriend looked at me like i was mad but bless him was as excited for me as he could tell they were obviously something i had been after for a while and finally got to have a look at :) I obviously couldn't pass by without buying any so i came away with a modest three shades (i am planning to return for more hahaha)

There has been sooooo much hype around these little gems with them releasing in possible every other country than the UK, all us girls have been reading blogposts in awe of everyone that has managed to get some...oh how i love the Philippines for getting releases early! I was so excited when i spotted these that i didn't really pay any attention to the colours..well i did but i mean the names there are a few i have stored in my head on my 'must buy' list but in the excitement i totally forgot and picked up three really different shades just so i could try, test out the pigmentation and see if i liked the formula.

I love everything about them and will definitely be getting those colours i forgot about in my head (damn this list on my head was suppose to be helpful) next time I'm in the mall.

I must say though not all the colours were available so I'm guessing everyone here in the Philippines is going mad for them as well.

So if you haven't actually heard of the Revlon Lip Butters then listen up...they are obviously a lip butter but everything about them says lipstick. The packaging is that of a lipstick and the colour pay off is as well but the best thing of all is how moisturising they really are. You would expect a moisturising lip product to not really have any pigmentation but they really do so much so they look like a lipstick but with a gloss over the top. They do not dry your lips out and stay put for around 2-3 hours..not the longest time ever but lets face it your lips always need moisturising and these are a great way to do it and with adding some colour!

As the consistency is so buttery they are so easy to apply perfect for on the go and the lip butter is literally all you need..no lip liner or lip gloss nothing just this little gem!

There is 20 shades available ranging from light pinks to dark reds so there is something for everyone.

The colours i chose were..

Creamsicle a light peach nude
Sweet Tart a vivid fuscia pink
Cupcake a light blue toned lilac pink

I love all the colours i got as Creamsicle is subtle enough to wear during the day, Cupcake is a very 'me' colour and Sweet Tart is just amazing...i have to admit i think sweet tart is my favourite i have been rocking it everyday since i got it.

Some of the shades also have a hint of shimmer/glitter in them which i personally really like. The shades i want to buy next are

Candy Apple
Raspberry Pie
Strawberry Shortcake
Tutti Frutti

I am a sucker for packaging and i really love the packaging of these its right up my street..the girly chic Chanel-esque style really works in my opinion!

I really also like the scent of these, to me they smell of vanilla however they do have mango, shea and coconut butter in them so I'm not too sure where I'm getting vanilla from but maybe the shea is quite strong?? Who knows but i like it anyway and its not too overpowering..some people have said they don't even have a scent :-/

I paid around £7 each for these so really i dont think they are any cheaper than what they will be in the UK

The one and only downside to these are that as they are soooo creamy and butter like they can tend to squash down a bit so i have learnt not to be too heavy handed when applying.

Be excited girls as these are going to hit shelves in the UK on March 14th!!!! Get to you nearest Revlon counter quick though as they are bound to sell out super fast.

Have you been lucky enough to try these yet?
Are you excited for the release in the UK?

More Love For Nailease & Update ♥

Hello Everyone...hope you are all well.

It  has been pretty damn long i know and i do really apologise!

For those of you who follow me on Twitter will know that i am currently on holiday and for those of you who didn't know i am away in the Philippines for just over 3 weeks and i have been here a week tomorrow..time is flying by.

So before i left to come away my time was taken up with organising my trip so I'm sorry there has been no posts from me.

The Internet in Philippines has pretty much failed me for the first week but i have finally got it to work which means i can blog whilst i am out here...fingers crossed it still carries on working. Either way it 100% works on my iPhone which means i am updating my Twitter daily and also my Instagram like maaaaad so if you want to follow my holiday in pictures then follow me on Instagram @ sophieismadeup :)

It is currently 12:15pm here and i am siting out on the balcony getting my tan on. The weather here in Philippines has been very up and down one minute its sunny the next is raining like crazy but i guess that's what you get in a tropical county, one thing is for sure though it still stays humid the whole time...so coming from snowing London its so nice to be rocking summer clothes and bright colours.

Anyway i shall get on to the post for you.

I recently became a big fan of Nailease Instant Manicure wraps and did a review of them here a few months ago. I love how simple, quick and easy they are so for Valentines Day i decided to try the above design. I know Valentines Day was a few days ago now but like i said the Internet has been failing me and wouldn't let me upload this sooner.

(Whilst i am typing this on the balcony it has started to rain...yep just how unpredictable the weather is out here lol)

I picked these up from River Island before i came away for £6.99...River Island?? I know i thought the same!

I love the unique design and the pretty pink was perfect for Valentines Day ♥

If you would like to know how to apply Nailease then please pop over to my previous post here where i explain exactly how to use them.

I sure fell in love with my nails on Valentines Day!

Have you ever tried Nailease Nail Wraps?
Did you have a love filled Valentines Day?

I always get asked why i go on holiday to the Philippines so i did a post on it here explaining everything :)

If my Internet still stays happy you will be seeing me again pop up in your dashboard ;p

Oh i nearly forgot...before i went away i also changed my blog around a little with a new cleaaner blog header..i hope you like it!

January Special Edition Valentines GLOSSYBOX ♥

Ok Ok i know i said last month that i was literally bursting with excitement to share the December GLOSSYBOX box with you but this month is literally on another level!!! I am bursting at the seems, its has been the longest couple of days everrrrr as i have had this box since Thursday but can now finally share it with you.

I guess you of have probably noticed that this months box is HOT PINK!!!!!!!
Its not in its signature dusty pink box but like the special December Red box GLOSSYBOX have pulled out all the stops with a bright Hot Pink Box for Valentines Day.

I have just got to put it out there now......

I am literally in love with the hot pink box and really really really wish hope and pray that GLOSSYBOX may make this permanent......pleeeeeease ;)
It makes it so super unique and i think any girl would be happy with the colour combination...don't you agree?

The baby pink stuffing, grey ribbon and super cute hot pink heart really make this box something special and all the colours together look so cute and i am going to definitely keep this box out on my dressing table for the whole world to see!

So on to the products in this months box...

Davines Authentic Moisturising Balm - This is a moisturising, organic, safflower oil based balm with a trebel action. It can be used on hair, face and body. You can use it as a make-up remover and also you can use it for an intense body moisturiser on damp skin. You can also use it on the ends of your hair for intense moisture. Its such a versatile product and with a generous sample of 75ml you really can get to try out the all possibilities and find out whats best for you!

Davines Authentic Cleansing Nectar - Again a really versatile product for body and hair. This is a super moisturising shower gel with an oily texture. It can also be used as a shampoo however if you suffer with oily hair i would say this isn't for you. I am really interested in Davines as a brand now that i have been introduced to a few products. I love that the formula's are made from 98-100% natural origin ingredients. They also smell really lovely with a hint of citrus, floral and cedarwood!

FAB Gentle Body Wash - Slightly disappointing that there is 2 body wash products in this months box however i have been really impressed by FAB products from a previous sample in a previous box and i am really loving this body wash. It is great for my sensitive skin and with only a slight scent my skin is really loving it. I just wish there wasn't 2 body wash products in the box :(

Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner - I was really excited to see this product in my box as i have been so interested by Eyeko since they had a make over as i loved all of their original products and have wanted to try some of the newer products for a while. In my box was a skinny eyeliner in the colour 'powder pink' From the swatch above you may think that the eyeliner is not even visible and so not pigmented however as its such a pale pink shade it works perfectly in the water line to really brighten the eye. I wear a flesh toned pencil in my water line pretty much every day so even though 'powder pink' isn't the most adventurous bold colour it look gorgeous on the water line. It works even better than my current pencil of choice as this has so much more of a pink tone to it and makes my green eyes really stand out!!

Murad Hybrids Skin Pefecting Primer Dewy Finish - This is a 2-in-1 problem solver which provides a shine free finish that creates a smooth canvas. Hiding any imperfections and pores whilst giving a dewy healthy look. This has adaptive technology meaning the flesh tone product adapts to your skin tone. It is an oil free formula which is also available in a matte finish rather than a dewy finish. I have some bad boy pores on my nose and this really helps to minimise them which i love!!

Also included is a cute GLOSSYBOX mint which you can see in one of the pictures above.

I will be honest this isn't my favourite GLOSSYBOX products wise...box wise i adore it but i feel there have been better products in other boxes. I have also seen that there has been some Clarins products in other boxes this month and to be honest i am soooo disappointed i didn't receive those products as i love Clarins!! This is the only negative i have about GLOSSYBOX is that not all boxes are the same which is such a shame.

Don't get me wrong there are 3 stand out products for me which i have been using since i received the box and love but there have been other products i have loved more in previous months.

I still get uber excited for my GLOSSYBOX every month do you??

What do you think of this months GLOSSYBOX?
Do you love the hot pink box?

*Being a GlossyBox Ambassador means i do get sent the box for free and a little earlier than the subscribers but i have said it once and i will say it again this does not influence my opinion..my review is always 100% honest!

Round 2 | The Amazing Japonesque Brushes ♥

You may remember a couple of weeks ago i introduced you all to some new brushes from an up and coming brand Japonesque..you can read my original review HERE!

Well today i have some more brushes to share with you as i was very kindly sent some more after my previous review.

If you are totally new to Japonesque and haven't seen my previous review then definitely check it out as i give an in depth introduction into the brand.

I have four more of the travel brushes and love these even more...i really am falling more and more in love with Japonesque Brushes.

I am going to start with my favourite brush from the four as i literally cant keep my excitement in...you all just neeeed to know about this brush.

The brush i am talking about is the Angled Foundation brush..a synthetic brush. Now i am one for using a large flat top brush to buff my foundation in quick and easy. I originally loved a traditional foundation brush then found it started making my foundation really streaky so at imats last year i purchased a large flat top brush which i have been using ever since...little did i know this was doing me no favours. When i first used the Japonesque Angled Foundation brush with my usual M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation i thought it was applying my foundation really evenly and quite thin..this wasn't a bad thing as i was still getting the same amount of coverage of course as i was still using the same foundation. It was applying my foundation like a dream, the brush is so incredibly soft for a synthetic brush and the bristles are really flexible meaning you get lots of movement with the brush. I was able to get into all those small annoying areas as the brush is angled. It may take a little longer than buffing your foundation but boy does it give a better finish. I realised after the first time i used it that my usual way of applying my foundation was in theory 'caking' it on making it look far too heavy. The Japonesque Angled Foundation Brush makes it even and gives it more of a natural finish which is what all us girls love.

I 100% love this brush and am now so happy i have a holy grail foundation and holy grail brush. I never ever thought i would go back to using a synthetic foundation brush!

The Eyeshadow Crease brush is definitely another favourite. A short dense natural bristle brush perfect for creating a smokey eye. This brush is super soft and the perfect shape and size for my crease. It is dense but you get a lot of movement from it meaning working the brush backwards and forwards in the crease is so quick and easy!

Now the Angled Brow Definer is pretty similar to the angled brush i reviewed previously but it is much smaller. It is more of a precision brush so you can create even more perfect brow shapes. It is designed to give you the perfect arch or 'Scouse Brow' as its now known ;) Who doesn't love a sScouse Brow?? If its good enough for Kate Middleton its good enough for me! I know i love a statement brow so like the other angled brush this has become a firm favourite in my make-up bag!

Last up in the Concealer brush. A flat synthetic brush. Now i only ever use a flat concealer brush for blemishes, i always use a fluffy brush for my dark circles so i must admit i have only been using this brush in certain areas. For me a flat concealer brush just doesn't cover up my bad boy dark circles..they are hideous and need some extra help in the mornings. For covering up small areas though it is perfect..it is really soft and is the perfect size. Another great use i found for this brush is to use it with my highlighter for under my brow bone..tis perfect!!

So what do you think?

Japonesque is certainly becoming one of my top brush/tool brands.

Just a quick heads up all Japonesque Brushes are currently on a deal in Boots

If you buy one Japonesque Brush you get the second HALF PRICE!!!

That's an amazing deal if you ask me so definitely be sure to check them out.

Have you tried any Japonesque Brushes yet?
